Within ten months of buying new Hyundai Accent the fuel gauge started showing erratic fuel content. Hence during its third and final free servicing the defect was pointed out to the service centre but nothing was done as it was not noted in the worksheet. However even after five more visits to the Hyundai service centre the gauge which was showing correct reading when the engine was cold and before starting, stopped showing even that. The workshop mechanic when confronted said that he had done everything as per the manual and had even confirmed the actions taken were correct from the company.
Registering the defect on the Hyundai customer care email only got assurance that somebody will contact me within three days but nothing happened for weeks. Calling on the mobile number given for customer care on the company website got only bureaucratic replies. It emerged that their data base was wrong as my name, vehicle, registration number and date of purchase was not matching with the actual which I gave and hence they were not able to register my complaint.
The Hyundai workshop just keeps calling the vehicle- carry out some test drive and return at the end of the day dirtying the vehicle and having spent lots of precious fuel. |
